13th Annual Fibrefest

Sept. 6 & 7 , 2008

 The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum’s highly anticipated Fibrefest is returning for its 13th annual event on the evening of September 5th and full days on the 6th & 7th, 2008 at the North Lanark Agricultural Hall and the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum (MVTM). At both locations we will be featuring fibre art vendors, demonstrations, a quilt exhibit and a textile appraisal Fair two full-day festival of the fibre arts! This year, we will continue to hold Fibrefest at two locations: in the newly renovated Norah Rosamond Hughes Gallery at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum and at the North Lanark Agricultural Hall. On Friday evening from 7-9pm the MVTM will be hosting an opening gala and silent auction. The cost of this event is $10 each or two for $15. The Friday evening event will be held at the MVTM and the cost of this event will give you free entry for the rest of the weekend. If not attending the Friday event the entry fee on Saturday & Sunday will be $5 to both sites. Two locations present vendors of fibre arts supplies and finished goods, and throughout Fibrefest, local guilds will be on hand to demonstrate the arts of knitting, lacemaking, smocking, weaving, spinning, quilting, penny rugs and more!
